Backsberg Wine Estate

28th March 2010, in Work (5 Comments)

After shooting 11 very beautiful estates for Cape Classics last year thought my wine-estate shooting days were complete, and it would be a while before I saw a vineyard through an eye piece again. But after a few visits (and tastings) at Backsberg Wine Estate I knew that this wasn’t true. As fourth generation farm, and South Africa’s first carbon neutral estate, the place is filled with a sense of character and purpose. It’s easy to create an interesting photo story with so many diverse elements to cover. The Farm is situated just outside Franschhoek. You will fall in love with the place when you visit. For directions, see their website.

Backsberg are also very active on twitter, you can follow Simon Back or the official Backsberg Estate Tweets.

heya, my friend got married here 2 weekends ago and i was wondering if you sold prints of these photos? She absolutely loves the one of the entrance…

Your photography is phenomenal by the way – stumbled across this website when I was looking at pics of your brother of all people!

Keep up the brilliant work!

Hey Bron, thanks for the compliments, it’s a beautiful estate.

What size and kind of print would she like? Will discuss it with Backsberg.
