The City Hall
29th April 2010, in Blog (0 Comments)
After visiting the City Hall for the Spier Contemporary, I remembered how beautiful this building is and went back today to take some more snaps. Although slightly forgotten, this 105 year-old building still retains it’s Lime-stoned grandeur. The stone to build the City Hall was imported from Bath in England. It also retains a huge amount of South African history between it’s walls. 250 000 gathered to hear Nelson Mandela give his first public speech off the balcony of the City Hall after his release in 1990.
I only had 10 minutes while passing to take some quick snaps, but I’m going to plan a proper shoot of the building at some stage.
