August is a newly launched web video production company. We wanted to shoot something simple and fun for their team Portraits by drawing inspiration from their tagline, “Illuminating ideas”. After scouting a few downtown lighting shops we discovered these ultra long light saber looking fluorescent bulbs (which emit a nice cool 5200 kelvin) and proceeded to divulge our entire phrasebook of Jedi Knight type quotes. This took at least one and a half minutes since the only ones I can recall are the typical, “I am Your Father” and something about “All Your Base Are Belong To Us”, which to be honest, I’m not entirely sure belongs in Lucas’s epic space opera.
